Candombe er en sydamerikansk kulturel tradition, der stammer fra efterkommerne af befriede afrikanske slaver i Uruguay. I de seneste to hundrede år har den haft en betydelig rolle i kulturen i Río de la Plata og optræder på UNESCO's kulturarvsliste.

I Union inviterer vi til eklektiske koncerter, som på hver deres måde afsøger jazzens grænseområder. Du skal med andre ord ikke forvente dig traditionel jazz, men derimod en rejse ned til jazzens globale rødder.

This is an opportunity to enjoy a variety of latin jazz little known in the Old Continent: Uruguayan artists join the drummers of Candombe DK on stage to create a unique sound that combines the improvisation and harmonic complexity of jazz with the percussion and groove of candombe.
Candombe is a South American cultural manifestation that originates from the descendants of liberated African slaves in Uruguay. For the last two hundred years, it has had a significant role in the culture of the Río de la Plata in the last two hundred years, and it is recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

In Union, we invite you to enjoy exciting eclectic concerts, which explore the borderlands of jazz. In other words, you should not expect traditional jazz, but rather a journey to the global roots of jazz.
