In the north western parts of Gothenburg city center - Västra Nordstan - the executioners and the rascal lived until the 18th century and the big square Gustav Adolfs torg was Gothenburgs first execution site. During the emigration to America during the 19th century, the emigrants flocked to Sillgatan, where tricksters, pickpockets and hookers found their prey.

Join us for a guided tour and hear about executioners, death penalty, scoundrels, false obituaries and about the head that floated in the harbour.
